What ethnicity uses online dating the most
The percentage of older Americans dating online has doubled, according to Pew Research Center.The share of Americans ages 55-64 who say they use online dating services has jumped from 6 percent in 2013 to 12 percent in 2015, according to a national survey published Thursday.The survey doesn’t say, but it provides some clues.In the two years between this Pew poll and the last, the percent of 18 to 24-year-olds who had used dating apps on their phone vaulted from five percent to 22 percent.The survey also found that acceptance—or, at least, awareness—of online dating was growing.Eighty percent of Americans think a website like Ok Cupid or an app like Tinder are good ways to meet people.
During an April 2017 survey, 84 percent of dating app users stated that they were using online dating services to look for a romantic relationship.
Of that 12 percent, most say they are using websites. Use of online dating appears to be growing the most among 18-24-year-olds, nearly tripling over the last two years from 10 percent in 2013 to 27 percent in 2015.
